1. Sword Beast’s sword is called Muramonsta and Reef Ronin’s is the Excalitooth.
2. Sailor Boom is trying to get Mr. Manty’s hat because she thinks it will give her the power to get her revenge on her former teacher Madame Crossed Bones
3. Seaworthy Sovereign is technically the ruler of Sovereignty City, but everyone knows that Barfrogamew Hops is the one who really runs the day to day (and he’s doing a great job!)
4. Cannon Bullies usually, well… bully most pirates they come across, but for some reason they really like the Harbinger of Pyrocy and treat him like a little brother, joshing around with him. He is confused by this.
5. Yo Ho Hero has an alter ego called Joe Navy… but his disguise is so bad that everyone knows his true identity, but goes along with it because he’s just so nice.
6. Monkey Bones is the last of the Crimson Apes, all of which have been removed from this plane of existence by the evil Baboon Bones. Monkey Bones is determined to get them back.
7. Sponge Barbarian had an older brother named Big Yellow, who was good friends with Reef Ronin, but he was unfortunately slain by Captain Lazerbeard. This left Sponge Barbarian, who was already quite angry, even more angry.
8. The leader of the Abyss Battalion was named Atoll Seawander, but he hasn’t been seen for many years… some think Captain Lazerbeard’s new puppet, Lord Voyager, has something to do with it.
9. Back during Captain Lazerbeard’s First Reign (before he was defeated at the Battle of Eternity Point) he had an army of Lobster Tanks strewn across the Monster Coast. When he retreated back into the Automaton Zone to rebuild his forces, he left the Lobster Tanks behind. Most have stopped working, but some wander, curious what their purpose is now.
10. Broadsidosaurus is the first mate of Pyrannosaurus Rex’s crew and most of his friends call him Brodie.
11. Calculegend was created to calculate where the Original Pieces of Eight are, but the computations came out confusing. That is why his eyes are in the shape of eights.
12. Cannon Floof is best friends with everyone on the Monster Coast… they just may not know it yet.
13. Captain Lazerbeard was created by a powerful AI program (that many think came from the future) called the Mother Aboard. She designed him to catalogue the Monster Coast. But when the Mother Aboard vanished Captain Lazerbeard struggled to adapt his programming over a thousand years and he realized the only way to catalogue everything was to take control and implement strict order over the Monster Coast.
14. At the Battle of Eternity Point, Gunpowder Sage accidentally mixed together a concoction of magical gunpowder that turned him into the mighty Blast Mode, which was enough to defeat Captain Lazerbeard in combat… but once the effects wore off he couldn’t remember what he mixed together. He has spent the last two hundred years trying to recreate the formula.
15. Madame Crossed Bones lives in a floating barge called the House of 10,000 Cabins, which lets her access every single captain’s cabin that has ever existed and will ever exist. No one knows how to navigate the halls of her house and not get stuck in an unfortunate past/future.
16. Mr. Manty was the runt of the litter and struggled to survive in the open ocean. It was only by accident that a current pushed him into the lagoon of St. Tempest, where there was a monastery. Mooring Monk was the keeper of this monastery and he quickly took it upon himself to nurse Mr. Manty back to health. He'd walk down to the lagoon every morning with a head of lettuce and feed Mr. Manty and talk about his day ahead. Because of this Mr. Manty got stronger and stronger and started exploring further beyond the lagoon. It was there that he found the magical hat... which whisked him off on a harrowing adventure... but Mooring Monk still wanders down to the lagoon every morning, with lettuce in hand, hoping that one day his friend will return.
